SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
The Social Media Intern will assist the Social Media Manager with updating and creating content for all HipHopDX social media platforms. Work will primarily consist of drafting Tweets corresponding to news stories, finding photos/videos, and assisting with Instagram posts. The Social Media Intern will report directly to the Social Media Manager. Ideal candidates have a passion for hip hop culture, use social media platforms heavily, and are up-to-date with current hip hop news and trends.
REQUIREMENTS
- Internship requires a minimum of 2 days per week
- Must be able to handle a time-sensitive work environment
- Careful attention to grammar and spelling
- The ability to work with headlines, storylines, hashtags/tags, creative angles, and express the different dimensions of a story.
- An understanding of the conversational tone that appeals to an urban audience
- Ability to multitask (monitoring several social media accounts simultaneously)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must feel comfortable in social situations with high-profile guests and strong personalities
- Positive attitude towards colleagues and outside vendors
- Must be reliable, punctual, and highly organized
- An enthusiastic willingness to attend industry events and shows for social media coverage
CONSIDERATION
Interns, who are present 4-5 days a week, receive a $250/month stipend to assist with commuting and parking costs, and other miscellaneous expenses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Sales will be responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue goals on monthly/quarterly/annual basis across digital, mobile, video, branded content and programmatic ad products as well as off-line events. This will be accomplished by managing existing account relationships while prospecting and developing new accounts. Scheduling and executing at least 8 face-to-face meetings a week including lunches, dinners and entertaining. Acting as a liaison between HipHopDX and advertiser on all marketing programs, including but not limited to advertising campaigns, advertorials, events, social and mobile promotions. Gathering market and advertiser information through competitive magazines, websites as well as trade journals. Keeping abreast of forthcoming marketing and editorial developments and special promotions to communicate with advertiser base. Develop and collaborate on marketing material needed to present to client as well as Prepare weekly sales reports.
MUST HAVE
- 2 - 4 years of media sales experience meeting and/or exceeding quotas
- Exceptional client relationship and communication skills
- Campaign management experience
- “Win-Win” attitude with a hunger to meet and exceed goals
- Desire to work in fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong Google Apps for Work or Microsoft (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills
- Residency in the Los Angeles, CA area or the ability to relocate
PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Interest in the music industry
- Experience with Ad Serving technology (Google Dart/DoubleClick, DFP for Small Business, OpenX, AdSmart etc..)
- Customer relations experience
- Business, Communications, marketing or other related degree
